INNOVATION

INTERACTIVE DECEL FUEL SHUT-OFF (iDFSO)

  • Interactive Decel Fuel Shut-Off (iFDSO) is a further innovation that helps improve both City and Highway fuel economy. Added for 2010 to 300 models with 5-speed automatic transmission, it is a software feature that turns off fuel to the engine when the car is decelerating. The Fuel Saver Indicator will indicate to the driver when iFDSO is active.

FUEL SAVER INDICATOR (FSI)

  • For 2010, a Fuel Saver Indicator (FSI) has been added to the instrument cluster on 300 models. When driving conditions are such to provide optimum fuel-saving, an illuminated symbol changes from “ECO” to “ECO on”. Road conditions, such as downhill runs and coasting will contribute to such fuel savings, but the system can especially help the driver to tailor his or her driving to achieve better fuel economy, particularly in avoiding unnecessary heavy acceleration.

5.7L HEMI® V8 ENGINE

  • Delivers 360 horsepower and 389 pound-feet of torque for the driving enthusiast who wants the power and performance of a HEMI®.
  • Multi-Displacement System (MDS) allows seamless electronic deactivation of four cylinders at cruising speeds to improve fuel economy up to 11% percent based on driving habits. Standard on Chrysler 300C.

AWD ACTIVE TRANSFER CASE AND FRONT AXLE DISCONNECT

  • Standard on All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) models for improved fuel economy
  • Active transfer case and front axle disconnect are two independent technologies
  • What it does:
    • seamlessly transitions between RWD and AWD with no driver intervention
    • provides optimal traction, performance and safety,
    • estimated fuel economy improvement of 1 mpg (combined city/highway)

ELECTRONIC STABILITY PROGRAM (ESP™)

  • Standard on all models, Electronic Stability Program (ESP) *constantly compares the driver's intended course with the vehicle's actual course and detects differences, applying the brakes to individual wheels and controlling engine power to help keep the vehicle on its intended path.
  • ESP provides oversteer and understeer control to maintain vehicle behaviour on all surfaces, providing an added measure of vehicle control and safety in all seasonal driving conditions. No system, no matter how sophisticated, can repeal the laws of physics or overcome careless driving actions. Performance is limited by available traction, which snow, ice and other conditions can affect. When the ESP warning lamp in the instrument cluster flashes, the driver needs to use less throttle and adapt speed and driving behaviour to prevailing road conditions. Always drive carefully, consistent with conditions. Please always wear your seat belt.

ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL

  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) automatically decreases the vehicle's preset cruise-control speed when closing in on another vehicle in the same lane, or when another vehicle pulls into the same lane.
  • ACC accelerates to the preset speed when the vehicle in front speeds up or moves into another lane. ACC maintains a specific distance between the vehicle and the one in front of it, allowing the use of cruise control in light traffic without having to continuously adjust settings.

uconnect phone VOICE-ACTIVATED HANDS-FREE COMMUNICATION

  • Available uconnect phone Hands-Free calling with Voice Command provides communication between your personal Bluetooth compatible phone and the vehicle's onboard receiver.
  • Includes a phone book, voice tag dialing, digit dialing, incoming call notification and privacy mode. Advanced voice recognition technology makes communication easier. Incoming voice is broadcast through the vehicle's front stereo speakers. A microphone in the rear-view mirror picks up occupant voices for transmission, keeping hands free for driving by using voice recognition to dial from your personal phone list. System can interface with up to five separate phones, ideal for multiple-phone households. Integrated system helps drivers stay focused on driving when placing and receiving calls.

UNIVERSAL CUSTOMER INTERFACE

  • Universal Customer Interface (UCI) is the system used to connect an iPod®interface to the vehicle to enable the user to control their iPod through the radio controls and the remote steering wheel switches (if equipped).
  • An iPod can be plugged into the vehicle's sound system to play music through the vehicle's speakers, charge/recharge the iPod (when ignition is on), display artists/music choices on the radio and pause/play when uconnect receives a call*.
